You are looking for Palworld admin commands and you land on lists of 30 or 40 commands including /GiveItem, /SpawnPals, /God and /Fly. The problem: these commands do not exist in vanilla Palworld. They come from mods or from guides that copy incorrect information. In reality, Palworld 1.0 has 13 built-in admin commands, not one more. This guide lists only what actually works.
Key takeaways
- Palworld has 13 admin commands in vanilla. There is no built-in /give, /spawn, /god or /fly.
- Commands are case-sensitive:
/Saveworks,/savedoes not. - All commands are typed in the in-game chat (Enter key) after authenticating with
/AdminPassword. - Via RCON or your hosting panel console, commands are written without the leading slash (
Saveinstead of/Save).
Logging in as admin
Before you can run anything, you must authenticate. Open the in-game chat (Enter key) and type:
/AdminPassword YourPassword
The password is the one defined in your server configuration (AdminPassword parameter in PalWorldSettings.ini). At most game server hosts, it is found in the "Startup" or "Settings" tab of the management panel.
A few points to remember:
- Authentication is valid for the current session only. You must re-authenticate on every reconnection.
- The password accepts only letters, digits, hyphens and underscores, 30 characters maximum.
- At some hosts, the panel manages the admin password and rewrites it in the config file at every startup. Changing the password directly in
PalWorldSettings.iniwill do nothing in that case: go through the panel.

Using the commands correctly
Moderation: kick, ban, unban
The standard procedure when a player causes problems: first /ShowPlayers to get their SteamID (the 17-digit number), then /KickPlayer or /BanPlayer with that identifier. Never type a kick or ban without first checking the right SteamID. On a server with 20 players, picking the wrong target happens quickly.
The ban is permanent until a /UnBanPlayer is run. There is no command to list banned players in vanilla Palworld. Keep your own list (a text file, a private Discord channel, a spreadsheet) with the SteamID, the player's name, the reason and the date of the ban. Otherwise, when someone contacts you for an unban three months later, you will have no way to find their identifier.
Bans are stored in the server's banlist.txt file. You can also manage them directly from this file: add or remove one SteamID per line and restart the server.
Teleportation
/TeleportToPlayer moves you to the player. /TeleportToMe moves the player to you. Both accept a SteamID or a UID. There is no teleportation by coordinates in vanilla Palworld, no /tp X Y Z, no /noclip, no /fly. If you need this kind of movement, spectator mode (/ToggleSpectate) lets you fly freely with a free camera, but your character stays in place.
Saving and shutting down
The clean shutdown sequence for a Palworld server:
/Broadcast Restart in 5 minutes- Wait 4 minutes
/Save/Shutdown 60 Restart imminent
Do not confuse /Shutdown and /DoExit. Shutdown starts a countdown and warns the players. DoExit cuts the server instantly with no save. Use DoExit only in an emergency (crashed server, duplication in progress, active exploit). In all other cases, /Save followed by /Shutdown is the right procedure.
The Broadcast trap via RCON
Broadcast has a known bug that persists in Palworld 1.0: over RCON, the message is cut at the first space. If you send Broadcast Server restarts in 5 min, only "Server" is displayed. The workaround: replace spaces with underscores (Broadcast Server_restarts_in_5_min). In game with the slash, the bug does not occur.
RCON and REST API: running commands remotely
You do not need to be connected in game to administer your server. Two external interfaces let you send commands.
RCON (port 25575)
RCON still works in Palworld 1.0, but Pocketpair has marked it as deprecated and confirms it will be removed in a future update. While it is available, here is how to use it:
- Enable RCON in the server configuration (
RCONEnabled=True,RCONPort=25575). - Use an RCON client (RCON CLI, mcrcon, or your hosting panel console).
- Commands are written without the slash:
Saveinstead of/Save,ShowPlayersinstead of/ShowPlayers.
If you use RCON for scheduled tasks (automatic restarts, cron saves, Discord bot), start migrating to the REST API. When RCON is removed, your automations will stop working.
REST API (port 8212)
The REST API is the official replacement for RCON. It is enabled in PalWorldSettings.ini with RESTAPIEnabled=True and RESTAPIPort=8212. Authentication uses HTTP Basic Auth with the user admin and your admin password as the password.
The REST API is unencrypted HTTP by default. Never expose port 8212 to the public internet without a firewall. Anyone who knows your admin password and can reach this port has full control of your server. Restrict access to trusted IPs only.
What does NOT exist in vanilla Palworld
This is the most important section of this guide, because dozens of sites list these commands as if they worked. None of the following commands exists in vanilla Palworld 1.0:
/GiveItem: does not exist/SpawnPalor/SpawnPals: does not exist/God: does not exist/Fly: does not exist/Noclip: does not exist/SetTime: does not exist/ChangeSettings: does not exist/BanList: does not exist/ResetMap: does not exist/tpwith coordinates: does not exist
Some of these features are available via server mods such as Admin Commands (Server Side) on NexusMods, which adds !give, !spawn and other advanced administration commands. But those are third-party additions, not built-in features. If a guide tells you to type /God in Palworld without mentioning a mod, that guide is incorrect.
PalWorldSettings.ini server settings
Real gameplay settings are made in the PalWorldSettings.ini file, not through console commands. Here are the most used parameters.
| Parameter | Description | Default value |
|---|---|---|
ServerName |
Server name displayed in the list | "Default Palworld Server" |
AdminPassword |
Admin password for /AdminPassword | - |
ServerPassword |
Password to join the server (empty = public) | - |
ServerPlayerMaxNum |
Max number of players | 32 |
ExpRate |
XP multiplier | 1.0 |
PalCaptureRate |
Capture rate multiplier | 1.0 |
PalSpawnNumRate |
Multiplier for the number of Pals that spawn | 1.0 |
PalDamageRateAttack |
Pal damage multiplier | 1.0 |
PlayerDamageRateAttack |
Player damage multiplier | 1.0 |
PlayerStomachDecreaseRate |
Player hunger loss speed | 1.0 |
CollectionDropRate |
Resource harvest multiplier | 1.0 |
EnemyMaxLevel |
Max level of wild Pals | 50 |
DeathPenalty |
Death penalty (None, Item, ItemAndEquipment, All) | All |
bEnablePlayerToPlayerDamage |
PvP enabled or not | false |
bEnableInvaderEnemy |
Raids enabled or not | true |
RCONEnabled |
Enables RCON | false |
RCONPort |
RCON port | 25575 |
RESTAPIEnabled |
Enables the REST API | false |
RESTAPIPort |
REST API port | 8212 |
These parameters take effect when the server restarts. On a server mid-game, editing the file and restarting is the only way to change the game rates. There is no console command to modify these values on the fly.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does my command display "Unknown command"?
Three causes. You are typing the command in the panel console with the slash (on RCON/panel, commands are written without the slash). Commands are case-sensitive: /Save works, /save does not. Or you are trying a command that does not exist in vanilla (like /GiveItem).
How do I give items or spawn Pals as an admin?
It is not possible with the vanilla commands of Palworld 1.0. The game provides no built-in /give, /spawn or /summon command. For this feature, you must install a server mod such as Admin Commands (Server Side) available on NexusMods, which adds !give, !spawn and other advanced administration functions.
Do the commands work on Xbox and PlayStation?
Admin commands are designed for dedicated servers. Console players can use them by connecting to a dedicated server and typing /AdminPassword in the in-game chat. Commands do not work in a local game (solo or invited co-op). On console, gameplay settings are made through the World Options menu, not through commands.
How do I automatically restart my server every 6 hours?
Use a scheduled task tool (cron on Linux, Task Scheduler on Windows) to send the Save then Shutdown 60 Automatic_restart commands via RCON or the REST API. Most server hosts offer this feature in their panel with no manual configuration.
Is RCON going to be removed?
Pocketpair has confirmed that RCON is deprecated in Palworld 1.0 and will be removed in a future update. The REST API (port 8212) is the official replacement. If you use RCON for automations (Discord bot, scheduled backups, cron restarts), migrate to the REST API now.
Where are bans stored?
In the banlist.txt file at the root of the server's save directory. Each line contains a SteamID. You can edit this file manually to add or remove bans, then restart the server to apply the changes. For the complete list of item and Pal IDs usable with administration mods, see the official Palworld wiki.
